Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar Hosts Sahodaya Saurashtra Sports Carnival (Athletics) 2025-26

Sainik School Balachadi in Jamnagar successfully hosted the prestigious Sahodaya Saurashtra Inter-School Athletic Championship (Sports Carnival) for the 2025-26 session, bringing together young athletes from schools across the Saurashtra region. The event showcased high levels of enthusiasm, skill, and sportsmanship in a day full of track and field competitions.

Nine Schools Compete for Top Honors

The athletics meet saw participation from nine prominent schools, including Delhi Public School Jamnagar, Jay International School, JP Modi School Vasai, SDCCL Public School, Shree Saraswati Vidya Mandir English School, Lokpriya Providentia International School, Sanskaar International School, Nand Vidya Niketan, and hosts Sainik School Balachadi. Students competed in a variety of track and field events throughout the day.

Nand Vidya Niketan Emerges Champion

After a spirited competition, Nand Vidya Niketan clinched the overall championship trophy, while Sainik School Balachadi finished in second place and Sanskaar International School secured the third position.

Outstanding Performances Recognised

Several athletes earned individual honours for their exceptional performances. In the Under-17 category, Somya Kalariya (boys) and Mamta (girls), both representing Nand Vidya Niketan, were declared Best Athletes. In the Under-14 category, the Best Athlete awards went to Cadet Saurav Kumar of Sainik School Balachadi and Darshini Sarda of Nand Vidya Niketan.

Celebration of Sportsmanship

The event was marked by strong competitive spirit and true sportsmanship, providing a platform for participating students and staff to exchange insights and foster camaraderie. The carnival not only focused on athletic excellence but also on mutual respect and team spirit among young athletes.

Awards and Felicitations

Col. Shreyash Mehta, Principal of Sainik School Balachadi, presented trophies, certificates, and medals to the winners. He also commended the organising team for their efforts in hosting a successful and memorable competition. The event was attended by Lt. Cdr. Hari Ram Poonia (Administrative Officer), Sqn. Ldr. Rakesh Tiwari (Vice Principal), teachers, and staff members.
