Jamnagar “Accident” Turns Out to Be Murder; Wife’s Affair Behind Crime

Jamnagar, Gujarat – April 7, 2025
What initially appeared to be a routine traffic collision on the Jamnagar–Kalavad–Dhori road has now been revealed as a deliberate act of murder, after police uncovered that the victim was targeted on the basis of a love affair involving his wife.

Collision or Crime?

Late in the evening yesterday, 30-year-old Ravi Dhirajlal Markana, a resident of Jamnagar’s Ranjit Sagar Road, was riding his motorcycle from Kalavad toward Jamnagar. A Thar jeep struck him near Vizarkhi village, and Markana succumbed to his injuries.

At first, the incident was recorded as a traffic accident. But officers from the City A Division found inconsistencies at the scene, including signs suggesting that the victim was chased before impact. Further interrogation and forensic analysis soon raised suspicions of foul play.

Murder Plot Exposed

Police tracked down the jeep’s driver, Akshay Chhaganbhai Dangariya, and during questioning he confessed that the collision was not accidental. Dangariya admitted that he had been in a long-term romantic relationship with the victim’s wife, Rinkal, and that she had provided Ravi’s location ahead of time.

According to Dangariya’s confession, he deliberately drove the jeep into Markana’s motorcycle at the designated location after receiving information from Rinkal, resulting in fatal injuries. He also acknowledged that Rinkal was complicit in the murder plan.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Following the confession, the police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Rinkal and Akshay Dangariya under relevant sections related to murder and criminal conspiracy. Both the accused have been detained and their vehicles seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are continuing to probe the matter to determine the full sequence of events and whether any further accomplices were involved. Charges are expected to be framed as the investigation deepens.
